The Pournelle

One of the largest independent space habitats is the Standford torus Niven, which is in high orbit above Luna. It consists of a large outer and smaller inner ring, with a descended 'spoke' to which is (usually) docked the Pournelle. The main purpose of the Pournelle is to defend the Niven, and also to provide a powerful evacuation vehicle should something irreparable happen to the Niven. Niven itself processes uranium and other radioactive materials into useable fuels and batteries, which has allowed them to accumulate quite the stockpile of pulse bombs - if anyone has the raw fuel to do outer solar system exploration it would be Niven. They are, in fact, the prime supplier of pulse bomb units for Asgard's Thunraz kinetistar, though not their thermonuclear warheads.
It is the most expensive and heavily armed mobile spacecraft except for the Thunraz and Baldr, and is the only non-drone combat craft of its kind. Niven is larger, less mobile and even more heavily armed and armored than the Pournelle.

Pournelle

The Pournelle is the primary defensive space arm of the independent Niven torus habitat. It was built in conjunction with the Niven, and its external clamp allows it to practically merge. It has a 75' long, 10,000 ton hull in a roughly toroid shape.
